AHA classes are limited to the Department of Nursing (i.e. RNs, NPs, LPNs).

You must show a printed copy of your CURRENT/ACTIVE PALS card and new CERTIFICATE/SCORE of completed pre-assessment on arrival. If you are expired, you must register for the full PALS course.

This is NOT a review class. It is a ‘challenge’ class – participants must arrive prepared to successfully complete all written and skills testing. All necessary review, preparation and studying must be completed beforehand. (If you would like to do a classroom-based PALS review, please register for the Initial Course.)

The PALS Course is designed to teach you the lifesaving skills required to be both a team member and a Team Leader in either an in-hospital or an out-of-hospital setting. Because the PALS Course covers extensive material in a short time, you will need to prepare for the course beforehand.

Be prepared to pass the Child CPR and AED Skills Testing Checklist and Infant CPR Skills Testing Checklist. You will not be taught how to do CPR or how to use an AED during the course. The resuscitation scenarios require that your BLS skills and knowledge are current. Review and understand all 2020 BLS guidelines, especially as they relate to pediatric patients.

You will be required to pay the class fee to reserve a seat.  The fee for nurses is $10 and non-nursing staff is $160.

Funds Transfers:

If you are paying with a funds transfer, please use PROMO Code: “FT Required PALS Renew” for non-nursing staff.  In addition your department will need to generate an electronic funds transfer in Sinai Central at https://sinaicentral.mssm.edu/. Please have the funds deposited to fund number #0166-1850 and the object code is 4511 (admin fees).

Nursing Staff includes APN, Clinical Oncology Associates, Cardiovascular Nursing Assistant, PCAs, RNs, MAs, Techs and NPs
